The museum closes every Monday, January 1 and on Lunar New Year and Chuseok day. A temporary exhibition, education session or holiday notice can change which rooms are usable.
Galleries remain open to 6:00 PM. The same ticket currently includes the neighbouring Ganghwa Natural History Museum, but neither museum's closure is cancelled by the outdoor dolmen park remaining accessible.
The World Heritage dolmen grounds, history galleries and natural-history galleries are separate visits. Keep enough daylight and walking time rather than treating the shared area as one room.

A civilian observatory inside Ganghwa's northern controlled zone, with exhibitions and views across the estuary toward North Korea.
