01
Choose one route, not one pin
The county currently presents a roughly 2.5-kilometre, 40-minute craft-and-exhibition route and a separate roughly 7.6-kilometre, two-hour fortress route. Save the actual start, finish and return.
02
Open each interior on its own timetable
The lanes remain public, but the cathedral, textile centres, museums, cafés, shops and palaces do not share one opening time, ticket, Monday closure or accessibility rule.
03
Keep the route public and quiet
Remain on public lanes, do not photograph through private doors or windows and keep groups clear of traffic, school entrances and working businesses.
Not in the current county self-guided guide. It now presents at least a short 2.5-kilometre craft-and-exhibition route and a separate 7.6-kilometre fortress route. Older guided-tour descriptions use another course and duration.
Can I start anywhere and enter every attraction?
You may join public lanes at many points, but each interior controls its own hours, tickets, events and access. Choose the exact route and priority venues first.

Goryeo fortress circuit · about 7.6 km · two hours listedThis longer route includes gates, slopes and dispersed heritage; weather and daylight matter.
Guided-tour boundary
A self-guided walk is not a reserved cultural-commentary tourHistoric 10:30 and 1:30 tour references are not proof of a seat today; book through the current county channel.
One-pin warning
The catalogue coordinate is only an old-town orientation pointIt is not universal parking, a ticket desk or the start of every route.
Interior boundary
Every church, palace, centre, café and gallery controls its own admissionA street remaining open does not make a closed venue accessible.
Street safety
Mixed footways, slopes, live roads and residential lanesUse crossings, keep doorways clear and choose a shorter section for wheels or limited mobility.
Photo scope
Current hero shows a real cluster of tiled hanok and walled courtyards along the old-town heritage landscapeIt does not show the whole route, every open interior or a pedestrian-only district.

4. Traveler tips
Download the current county leaflet before arrival because lane-level wayfinding is more useful than routing to the centre pin.
Build the day around two or three priority interiors, then use the public streets as the connector rather than trying to enter every stop.
For the fortress route, set a daylight turnaround and keep water; the advertised two hours is not a universal mobility estimate.
Search “강화 원도심 스토리워크” in Naver Map or Kakao Map and confirm the exact entrance and return route.
Hours, admission, closures and programme schedules can change; use the official source before departure.
The catalogue coordinate is an approximate centre pin, not turn-by-turn entrance guidance.
