    DAY-OF PLAN

Know the sequence before you go.

Times from the operator are kept separate from Korea Era planning guidance.
    1. 01
Plan the published 4.8 km green-trail system

The official guide divides the route into the 1.3 km mine-flower path, 2.7 km ecological forest path and 0.8 km beacon ascent. Continuous general access does not make it a short viewpoint stop or guarantee every branch after severe weather.

    2. 02
Use the signed route and remain inside the safety fence

Soisan was opened through military cooperation and retains minefield and restricted-area context. Never pass a fence, shortcut across grass or follow an unofficial track, even when a viewpoint appears close.

    3. 03
Protect visibility and the daylight return

Cloud, haze, heat and winter wind can erase the wide Cheorwon Plain view shown in the photograph. Turn back with enough time for the forest descent and a no-parking trailhead connection.

    4. Traveler tips

    • Download the route and begin with enough time for the full descent rather than treating the summit as a roadside lookout.
    • Use grippy footwear and carry wind protection because the exposed upper section can feel very different from the forest base.
    • Respect every military or mine-safety sign without testing whether a fence opening is passable.
    • Search “철원 소이산 생태숲 녹색길” in Naver Map or Kakao Map and confirm the exact entrance and return route.
    • Recheck weather, trail or garden closures, last entry and seasonal conditions before departure.
    • The audited coordinate identifies the named destination, but the final gate, parking area and step-free entrance still need a live route check.
