Gangneung and Sokcho without a car
Choose Gangneung or Sokcho as the day's base, keep Gangneung station and coast stops in one corridor or use Sokcho's correct bus terminal and current Seoraksan route, and reserve a taxi only for the weak final segment.

TRAVELER FAQ
Answers before you leave.
Can I see Gangneung and Sokcho in one day?
It is possible only as a rushed intercity transfer. Most car-free travelers get more value by choosing one base per day.
Which Sokcho bus terminal should I use?
Use the terminal named on the current ticket. The express and intercity terminals are separate locations.
Can I reach Seoraksan by local bus?
Sokcho publishes current local-bus information and park directions, but check today's stop, interval and final return.
Is Gangneung Station on the beach?
No. Include the city or coast transfer and group the rest of the day into one corridor.
Can I book a tourist taxi after arrival?
Do not depend on that. Gangneung's tourist-taxi program requires advance booking and its current rules should be checked first.
