TRAVELER FAQ

Answers before you leave.

Do I need to tip a taxi driver in Korea?

No tip is normally required for an ordinary taxi fare. Pay the meter or confirmed booking total unless a separate agreed service says otherwise.

Can I use a foreign card?

Many taxis and multilingual apps support cards, but the exact card and payment channel can fail. Confirm before the ride and keep a backup payment method.

Why is the fare higher at night?

Late-night, out-of-area and taxi-type surcharges can apply by city and time. Check the current local rule or app quote rather than a nationwide fixed number.

What if I leave something in the taxi?

Use the receipt or app trip history to identify the vehicle and contact the operator. Also search or report through Police Lost112 when appropriate.

What if I feel unsafe?

Leave at a safe, populated place when possible and call 112 for immediate danger or suspected crime. Share the plate and location, not a public accusation without evidence.
