STEP BY STEP

What you actually do, in order.

  1. 01

    Land and clear arrivals

    Bus stops are on the pavement outside the arrivals level, not down at the train platforms. You want the exit doors rather than the escalators.

    Follow the Airport Bus signs outside

    Terminal signage separates bus, taxi and rail early. Airport buses load from numbered bays along the kerb, and the bay you want depends on where you are going, not on which bus arrives first.

    Confirm how this route is paid

    Use the current operator and airport instructions for the exact route. A route may use a ticket, a supported card or another stated method, and the rule can differ from the next bus.

    Look for 교통카드 · Transportation Card

    A retail card or one bus payment does not prove every airport-bus ticket or stored-value reload will accept the same method.

    Find the bay for your route

    Each bay lists the routes that use it and the districts they serve. Match the route number on the pillar to the route you looked up — several buses serve central Seoul by very different paths.

    Do not pick a bus by its destination name alone. Confirm the route number stops near your accommodation before boarding.

    Board and stow your luggage

    Large bags go in the side hold, usually with the driver's help, and you keep anything you need for the ride with you. Tap or show your ticket as you step on.

    Remember which hold your bag went into. The bus opens both sides at busy stops.

    Ride into the city

    The bus runs on the motorway and then through city traffic, which is what makes the time variable rather than fixed. Announcements are usually bilingual.

    Journey time depends on traffic. A weekday evening arrival can add a long time to a scheduled run.

    Get off at your stop

    Limousine routes make several stops across a district. Watch the display and the announcements rather than assuming the first city stop is yours.

    Walk the last stretch

    Confirm the exact drop-off, accessible path and final walk before choosing the bus. A useful stop can reduce transfers, but it does not guarantee a step-free route to the entrance.
