Use one clear Korean phrase without guessing

Choose the exact situation, show written Korean at readable size, pair it with the real object and confirm the answer before acting.
Eight-panel illustrated workflow for finding one Korean travel phrase, checking its context, showing a large written card, confirming the reply and finding staffed help
Illustrated guide. Drawn to show the shape of the journey — not a photograph, and not a record of current signs, prices or times.

ILLUSTRATED GUIDE

Read the pictures for the route. Read the text for the numbers.

  • Every phone and sign inside the poster is intentionally blank or symbolic. The raster contains no Korean phrase and cannot be used as a translation, pronunciation or emergency message.
  • The eight panels describe a communication workflow, not a guarantee that a phrase, romanization, device voice, gesture or yes/no symbol will be understood or produce the requested result.
  • The transport, food, medical and information icons identify broad situations only; they do not prove service availability, safety, accessibility, ingredient control, ticket validity or an official help channel's current hours.

STEP BY STEP

What you actually do, in order.

  1. 01

Name the one task you need to complete now

Move out of pedestrian or vehicle traffic and decide whether this is a direction, transit, taxi, food, dietary, payment, stay, event, social or health task. One exact intent produces a clearer card than a paragraph about the whole day.

    Look for 길찾기 · 교통 · 택시 · 음식 · 결제 · 숙소 · 행사 · 건강

Do not type, play audio or hold a screen toward someone while crossing a road, standing at a platform edge or blocking a gate. Immediate danger goes to 112 or 119, not phrase search.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  2. 02

Search and choose one exact phrase

Open the searchable phrasebook, use the category or an English, Korean or romanized keyword, then read the English meaning and Korean line together. Save only the phrases you expect to need offline on this device.

Look for 검색 · 저장 · 한국어 문구

A nearby-looking phrase can change the task: asking where a station is, whether a train reaches a station and which exit to use require different answers. Do not merge them into one card.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  3. 03

Check the nouns and conditions before showing it

Add the exact Korean place or branch, current ticket or product, number of travelers and any condition that changes the answer. For food safety, name each relevant ingredient or reaction rather than showing a generic preference.

Look for 지점 · 주소 · 날짜 · 인원 · 알레르기 · 포함

A phrase card cannot prove that a kitchen prevents cross-contact, that a ticket applies today or that an English place name identifies the right branch. Confirm the answer against the real item and current rule.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  4. 04

Show the Korean card large and keep it still

Use the large-card view, raise screen brightness if appropriate and let the other person read without scrolling. Keep unrelated messages, booking codes, passport details, payment data and room information off the visible screen.

Look for 한국어 크게 보기 · 보여 주세요

The poster deliberately shows blank screens. Exact Korean must come from the searchable HTML card, not from text guessed from the illustration, a screenshot crop or a remembered sound.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  5. 05

Point to the ticket, menu, address or map result

Pair the sentence with the concrete object that resolves ambiguity: the exact ticket, menu line, product label, hotel address, station direction or official booking screen. Let staff point or write when that is clearer than a long spoken reply.

    Look for 이거 · 이 주소 · 이 열차 · 이 메뉴

Do not expose a full passport page, card number, verification code, private chat or live accommodation access code just to provide context. Crop or cover unrelated private fields.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  6. 06

Use pronunciation or device audio only as a second cue

Keep the written Korean visible while using romanization or the device's Korean speech voice as an optional aid. Speak slowly, then return to the written card if the sound is not understood.

Look for 듣기 · 천천히 말해 주세요

Romanization cannot reproduce every Korean sound and browser speech is a device-generated voice, not a recorded native pronunciation or interpretation service. Never make a safety decision from audio alone.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  7. 07

Confirm the reply before moving, ordering or paying

Repeat the destination, amount, ingredient, platform, entry condition or yes/no answer you understood and ask the person to point when useful. Save a receipt, ticket or official screen when you will need the answer again.

Look for 맞아요? · 다시 말해 주세요 · 여기예요? · 포함돼요?

A nod, a copied word or a machine translation can still be ambiguous. For allergies, medical care, money, identity checks and last transport, confirm the exact acting-on detail through a reliable current source.

This step has not been illustrated yet.

  8. 08

Switch to staffed or official help when the card is not enough

Ask a staffed information desk, operator, accommodation or venue to write or show the answer. For non-emergency tourism information and interpretation, use the current 1330 channel; call 112 for an immediate police danger and 119 for fire, rescue or emergency medical help.

    Look for 안내 · 직원 · 통역 · 1330 · 경찰 112 · 소방·구급 119

A public community post is not emergency dispatch, medical interpretation, an allergen guarantee, ticket authorization or a refund decision. Do not wait for replies when immediate official help is needed.

This step has not been illustrated yet.
