USE IT ON THE TRIP
Keep this guide for the day you need it.
Add it to an itinerary, or ask travelers when one detail may have changed since the last official check.
Choose the drink, temperature, quantity and service, then show the whole card. It does not guarantee stock, customization or allergy safety.
SHOW THE STAFF
아이스 아메리카노 한 잔, 매장에서 마실게요.
1 iced Americano · dine-in
Wait for the staff response and confirm the final total. For a serious allergy, do not rely on an automated phrase alone.
Leave the facts after a real visit
Enter the cafe and area to start a footprint. Date, price, wait, one-order rule and card result are more useful than a generic rating.

Use the staffed counter when you need ingredient or payment help. On a kiosk, change language if available and check the final basket before paying. A table QR or written order system belongs only to that café.
Watch out Do not leave a foreign payment card or passport as a table marker while you work out the system.

Watch out Popular cafés may use a unique pickup concept; follow the current staff explanation rather than copying another table.

AVOID THESE MISTAKES
5 mistakes worth remembering.
Taking a seat before checking whether ordering comes first.
Do this instead Read the entrance notice and ask whether seats are assigned, self-selected or available only after payment.
Ordering only the drink name.
Do this instead Add hot or iced, size, quantity and dine-in or takeout before paying.
Losing the receipt, pager or pickup key.
Do this instead Keep it visible until every item has been collected and the device returned.
Treating one café's one-drink or time rule as universal.
Do this instead Follow the posted policy at the exact venue and ask before occupying a table for a long stay.
Leaving cups and liquid on a self-service table.
Do this instead Use the return station and separate the remaining liquid and packaging as marked.
TRAVELER FAQ
Answers before you leave.
Do Korean cafés require one drink per person?
Some do, especially small or themed cafés, but it is not a universal rule. Read the entrance or menu notice before sitting.
Will a café have an English menu?
Many chains and visitor-facing cafés do, while independent menus may be Korean-first. Camera translation helps, but ask staff about ingredients and allergens.
Can I work on a laptop for hours?
Only when the café's seating, outlet and time rules allow it. Avoid busy tables, order appropriately and leave by the posted closing or time limit.
Is water free?
It may be self-service, provided with an order or sold as bottled water. Look for 정수기 or ask rather than using a staff-only station.
Can I bring outside food?
Do not assume so. Most cafés set their own outside-food, cake and celebration rules; ask before opening anything.
Do I tip café staff?
Tipping is generally not expected in ordinary Korean food-service settings. Pay the displayed total unless a booked experience clearly states a separate service charge.
