What the route does—and does not—promise.
- Day 1, Day 2, Day 3 and Day 4 are four separate calendar days. The twelve stops are split 3 + 3 + 3 + 3; this is not a one-day timeline.
- This plan uses one hotel move: sleep in the east after Day 1, then use the same Seogwipo or southwest base for nights two and three. Changing hotels every morning removes the flexibility the fourth day is meant to create.
- Confirm before booking that every intended driver can legally rent the selected vehicle. Carry the original passport, valid International Driving Permit and any home licence or credit card the operator requires; operator age, experience, language, vehicle and insurance rules can be stricter than a general guide.
- Read the rental contract and insurance exclusions. At pickup, record every side of the vehicle, wheels, glass, interior, odometer and fuel or charge level before leaving the lot.
- The airport rental desks are not the vehicle lot. Jeju Airport directs arriving renters to provider shuttles outside Gate 5; protect shuttle and queue time at both pickup and return.
- Korea drives on the right. Obey live speed limits, school and elderly protection zones, parking rules and camera warnings; never let an itinerary pressure you into unsafe overtaking, stopping or exhausted driving.
- Hallasan trail access, roads, parking and turn-around controls change with weather and season. Yeongsil is a scenic route but does not reach Baengnokdam summit.
- Yongmeori Coast can restrict entry for high tide, waves or bad weather. Confirm the same-day access before driving there and use the Sanbangsan-area walk or another inland stop when closed.
- The Lee Jung-seop Art Museum is undergoing reconstruction with reopening planned for 2027. Treat the street and a currently confirmed temporary exhibition as the visit, not a guaranteed entry to the original building.
- Hyeopjae, Hamdeok and Iho are year-round landscapes, but designated swimming zones and supervised beach hours are seasonal. Follow the current lifeguard, wind, wave, pet and night-operation rules.
- OSULLOC is a commercial visitor venue. Recheck hours and programs, avoid brand promises, and never enter a field or road shoulder that is not open to visitors.
- On Day 4, work backward from airline bag drop and security, then add the rental provider's fuel or charging, inspection, contract closeout and shuttle time. Remove Iho first when the buffer shrinks.
- Do not drive after alcohol, when exhausted or in severe wind, rain or snow. Call 112 for police, 119 for fire or medical emergency and 1330 for multilingual travel help.
