DAY-BY-DAY

Places, order and practical checks.

A useful Seoul day is one connected corridor with a real meal and a confirmed way home, not six famous pins in six directions.
01

ONE CONNECTED DAY

Old Seoul first, one modern task, public lights last

The times are pacing, not opening hours. Remove a stop when heat, rain, mobility, queues or a late start make the route too heavy.
  1. 09:00

    Gyeongbokgung Palace

    경복궁

Start at one palace while energy is high; recheck the closed day, admission and any ceremony before entering.

Budget check · Current admission and free-entry conditions must be checkedTraveler check · Carry water and do not treat rented clothing as permission to ignore site rulesOpen on Korea map →
  2. 11:00

    Bukchon public visitor route

    북촌한옥마을

Move a short distance into a lived-in hanok neighbourhood and stay on public visitor streets without photographing private doors.

  3. 13:00

    Insadong lunch

    인사동길

Choose one complete meal near the old-city route before the afternoon rather than turning every snack into a stop.

Budget check · Read the displayed menu before orderingTraveler check · Ask about meat stock, seafood, nuts and other allergensOpen on Korea map →
  4. 15:00

    Myeongdong practical stop

    명동역

Use the central district for one real task—shopping, a café, currency or a rest—then leave instead of collecting storefronts.

Budget check · Set a personal shopping ceilingTraveler check · Keep receipts only when needed for returns or tax-refund eligibilityOpen on Korea map →
  5. 18:00

    Namsan sunset choice

BEFORE YOU GO

What the route does—and does not—promise.

  • Gyeongbokgung opening, closure, admission, guided programs and ceremony schedules can change. Open the responsible heritage page that morning.
  • Bukchon is a lived-in neighbourhood. Current restricted hours, resident signs and on-site staff instructions outrank this route.
  • Namsan park access, commercial observatory admission, weather visibility and the final useful descent are separate live checks.
  • Cheonggyecheon can close for rain, flooding, maintenance or events. Use the street-level return when barriers or notices say so.
