The numbered pins follow the schedule. The map does not draw a route line; use the Korean place-name links for live walking and transit directions.

THE CHECKED LIST

A real 10:00–22:00 day, not half an itinerary.

Follow the stops in order. The schedule includes a transfer buffer, a proper sit-down break and an evening — because a full day needs all three.
MORNING · 10:00–14:15

Shop, browse and take lunch to the river

Start when most market stalls are awake. The three morning stops are close enough to walk, but leave room for queues and choosing food.

  1. 01

    Mangwon Market

    망원시장
    10:00 · 75 min

Begin with a working neighbourhood market: look first, then choose one breakfast-sized snack and one picnic item instead of treating every stall as a challenge.

LOCAL MOVE · Pay each vendor separately, keep the queue moving and step aside before stopping to eat or photograph.CHECK FIRST · Individual shops keep different hours and closure days. The official guide lists market hours only as a broad range.
  2. 02

    Mangridan-gil

    망리단길
    11:15 · 60 min

Slow down around Poeun-ro for small prop shops, bakeries and cafés that make Mangwon feel different from central shopping districts.

LOCAL MOVE · Browse without a shopping target; choose one small business only if it genuinely fits your day.CHECK FIRST · This is a neighbourhood, not one managed attraction. Shops open, close and take breaks independently.
  3. 03

    Mangwon Hangang Park

    망원한강공원
    12:15 · 120 min

Eat your market picnic beside the river, then walk without an attraction deadline — a very Seoul way to use a free afternoon.

LOCAL MOVE · Sit, eat and walk; keep the cycle lane clear and take rubbish to a designated collection point or back with you.CHECK FIRST · Riverside areas can close during severe weather or high water. Skip the picnic in heavy rain, extreme heat or poor air quality.
AFTERNOON · 15:00–18:30

Follow the old railway and let one café be the plan

Allow about 45 minutes after the river for the walk and transit to Hongik Univ. Station. Use live directions rather than assuming one bus will always be fastest.

  1. 04

Gyeongui Line Forest Park · Yeonnam

    경의선숲길 · 연남동 구간
    15:00 · 60 min

Join the linear park at the Yeonnam section and walk the former railway slowly, using benches and lawns instead of rushing to the next landmark.

LOCAL MOVE · The public greenway is free; cafés, restaurants and workshops along its edges are separate businesses.CHECK FIRST · Weekend afternoons are busy. Keep moving on narrow sections and do not block residents' entrances for photos.
  2. 05

    Yeonnam-dong Workshop Street

    연남동 공방거리
    16:00 · 75 min

Turn into the side streets for small studios, objects and murals — the useful contrast to Hongdae's larger, louder retail streets.

LOCAL MOVE · Window-shopping is fine; ask before photographing inside a studio and never assume handmade work is a free photo prop.CHECK FIRST · The official guide describes an area, not guaranteed opening hours for every workshop.
  3. 06

    Yeonnam-dong café lanes

    연남동 카페거리
    17:15 · 75 min

Make the café break a destination: order one drink, rest your feet and watch the neighbourhood change from afternoon to dinner time.

LOCAL MOVE · Pick a café after checking its current menu and seating; no single venue is sponsored or required by this route.CHECK FIRST · Small cafés may have one-order-per-person rules, time limits or no laptop policies. Read the signs before sitting.
EVENING · 18:30–22:00

Eat near the park, then finish where street culture is visible

The last two zones are walkable from each other. Choose dinner by today's queue and menu, not by an old viral list.

  1. 07

    Yeonnam-dong dinner lanes

    연남동 맛집거리
    18:30 · 90 min

Choose a small local dinner near the park and eat before the late-night Hongdae rush, leaving room for an unplanned dish or dessert.

LOCAL MOVE · Use the Korean menu, queue and recent local map reviews in front of you; this guide does not funnel you to one restaurant.CHECK FIRST · Confirm last order, break time, minimum order and dietary needs before joining a queue.
  2. 08

    Hongdae Red Road

    홍대 레드로드
    20:00 · 120 min

Finish with busking, people-watching and the evening energy around the R1 and R2 sections, then leave whenever the crowd stops being fun.

LOCAL MOVE · Walking and watching public street activity are free; performances, markets and private venues vary by night.CHECK FIRST · Busking and flea-market programmes are not guaranteed. Protect your belongings in crowds and use the last-train time as your hard stop.
