Naver Map and Kakao Map

Published version 1 · 2026-10-20

Naver Map and Kakao Map are the map apps most people in Korea use for walking, public transport and finding businesses. Routes in them are usually more reliable for Korea than international map apps. Using them well - Install one before you travel and choose an available interface language. - Save each place's Korean name and road address, not only the English business name. Branch names matter for chains. - Before you set off, check that the pin matches the district, nearest station and nearby landmark from your booking. - Route to the subway exit number closest to your destination and follow the numbered exit signs inside the station. - For taxis, keep a screenshot of the Korean address, place name and phone number so it works without data.
