Templestay in Korea (템플스테이)

Published version 1 · 2026-10-20

A templestay is a short stay at a Buddhist temple that follows the temple's daily routine. Programs are listed and booked through the official Templestay website. Choosing a program - One-day programs give a short introduction; overnight programs follow the temple's schedule, including an early wake-up, ceremonies and meditation; rest programs are more open. - Check the program's language, schedule, physical demands (bows, walking, sitting), room arrangement and meals. - Book the exact temple, date and program on the official platform and save the confirmation and cancellation terms. Going - Save the temple's Korean name, address and the final route; mountain temples can be far from transport. - Arrive before orientation, keep the quiet routine, and tell staff early about health, diet or participation concerns.
