Korean convenience stores (편의점)
Published version 1 · 2026-10-20
Convenience stores such as CU, GS25, 7-Eleven and Emart24 are everywhere in Korea and useful for food, drinks, transit-card top-ups and basic supplies.
Tips
- Choose a staffed branch the first time if you need a bag, utensils or help.
- Match the shelf price to the exact item, and use camera translation on the ingredient and allergen label if you have dietary restrictions.
- Pay before opening or heating anything. Then follow that branch's signs for the microwave, hot water or ramyeon machine.
- Eat only in the seats that belong to the store, and sort your waste as the branch asks.
- Services such as T-money sales and top-ups, ATMs, parcels or tax refunds vary by branch: ask for the exact task and confirm the payment method.
