A jjimjilbang is a Korean bathhouse with gender-separated baths and a shared area of heated rooms.
Etiquette
- Check the facility's current hours, last admission, prices and any age rules before you go.
- Take off your shoes at the marked line and put them in the shoe locker; staff give you a key or wristband.
- In the changing room, store your clothes, valuables and phone in your locker.
- Shower and wash thoroughly before getting into any shared bath. Keep towels and hair out of the water.
- Wear the clothes the facility gives you in the shared jjimjil area.
- Use hot rooms in short sessions, drink water, and leave at once if you feel unwell.
- Never take photos in changing or bathing areas.
