THE EDITED ROUTE

7 stops, each with a reason.

Times create a useful rhythm. They are not promises about opening hours or travel time.
01

ONE OLD-TOWN LINE

Busan Station → Nampo → night market

The route moves south through adjacent old-Busan districts. Times set a useful rhythm; food prices, queues and transfers still vary.
  1. 01

    Breakfast near Busan Station

    부산역 편의점 아침

Buy a simple breakfast before climbing so the first hill does not turn into an unplanned cafe stop.

Breakfast envelope · up to ₩4,000Check the shelf price and keep any change for the buffer
  2. 02

    Choryang Ibagu-gil + 168 Stairs

    초량이바구길 · 168계단

Start with Busan's hillside history, port views and the famous stairway while the morning is cooler.

Public route · freeThe route is steep; take breaks and use the nearby road option if stairs are unsuitable
  3. 03

    Forty Stairs Cultural Street

    40계단문화관광테마거리

Continue into Jungang-dong for a small public memorial landscape tied to the Korean War refugee era.

Public street and stairs · freeThe outdoor stairs are public; the separate Culture Hall keeps its own hours and weekly closure
  4. 04

    Yongdusan Park

    용두산공원

Use the free park and central lookout as the hinge between Jungang and Nampo without paying for the tower observatory.

Park · freeBusan Tower is a separate paid facility and is not included in this ₩50,000 plan
  5. 05

    Gukje Market + BIFF Square

    국제시장 · 비프광장

Browse linked market lanes, eat one proper local lunch and keep the snack envelope separate for later.

Lunch up to ₩12,000 · coffee up to ₩5,000Read the posted price or ask for the total before ordering; one meal is the budget, not a full food crawl
  6. 06

    Jagalchi waterfront

    자갈치시장 친수공간

See the working-port edge and sunset light for free instead of turning seafood dining into an uncontrolled expense.

Waterfront walk · free · snack up to ₩5,000Seafood restaurant totals vary by species, weight and preparation; this route does not assume a seafood meal
  7. 07

    Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market

    부평깡통야시장

Finish back inside the old-town market cluster when the official night-market window begins, then walk or make one short return connection.

Dinner envelope · up to ₩12,000Night-market hours and individual stall days vary; confirm the final total and payment method before ordering

THE ₩50,000 ENVELOPE

Every won has a job.

Seven spending caps add to ₩50,000. Spend less in one envelope and keep the remainder in the buffer.
01

Transit

₩6,000

A cap for short ordinary bus or Metro rides; transfers and distance change what you actually use.

02

Breakfast

₩4,000

One simple convenience-store breakfast near Busan Station.

03

Lunch

₩12,000

One local market or neighbourhood meal; check the posted price first.

04

Coffee

₩5,000

A drink-and-rest allowance after the hill and central walk.

05

Market snack

₩5,000

Choose one item rather than sampling every stall.

06

Dinner

₩12,000

A simple night-market or old-town meal, not a priced-by-weight seafood order.

07

Buffer + water

₩6,000

Keep this for price changes, water or one extra local ride.

TOTAL TARGET₩50,000Actual prices vary by date, operator, distance and personal choices.

The choices that make this edit work.

THE MATH

Seven envelopes, exactly ₩50,000

₩6K transit + ₩4K breakfast + ₩12K lunch + ₩5K coffee + ₩5K snack + ₩12K dinner + ₩6K buffer.

A spending ceiling, not a price promise
ROUTE LOGIC

Spend time, not fares

Busan Station, Choryang, Jungang, Nampo and Jagalchi form one compact old-town corridor instead of a Haeundae-to-west-Busan race.

Walk south · use short hops when needed
PROTECT

Skip the expensive surprise

The public park, streets and waterfront are the attractions. Paid tower views and priced-by-weight seafood sit outside this plan.

Ask the total before ordering

BEFORE YOU GO

What can still change

  • The ₩50,000 total is an editorial spending envelope, not a vendor price guarantee. A line can cost less; leave the difference in the buffer.
  • Busan's official adult transit-card fare is currently ₩1,550 for an ordinary city bus and ₩1,600 for a one-section Metro ride. Cash fares and longer Metro distances differ.
  • The ₩6,000 Metro mobile day pass covers the urban rail network only; it does not cover buses, the Donghae Line or Busan–Gimhae Light Rail. This route uses a general transit envelope instead.
  • Choryang Ibagu-gil and the 168 Stairs are steep. Use the road approach, rest often or skip the climb if stairs, heat or rain make it unsafe.
  • Yongdusan Park is free, but Busan Tower is a separate paid observatory and is intentionally excluded from the budget.
  • Bupyeong Kkangtong Night Market officially lists 19:30–24:00, with conditions varying by store. Treat current stall operation as something to confirm, not a promise.
  • Market cards, closing days and prices vary by stall. Ask ‘얼마예요?’ and confirm the total before food is prepared, especially for seafood sold by weight.
  • Accommodation, travel to Busan, shopping, alcohol and emergencies are outside the ₩50,000 local-day envelope.
