• These ten places are independent destination choices, not one province-wide route. Pick one base and one destination, not all 10, and do not attempt to connect the three groups as consecutive stops.
• Gangwon has 18 cities and counties, and the station or terminal carrying a familiar area name may still be far from the attraction. Match the exact municipality, gateway, final local stop and return before buying the long-distance ticket.
• Use the attraction operator or local-government page for current admission, closure and facility rules, then use live Korean maps and transport services for the last mile. An old English article is context, not a live timetable.
• Protect the final bus, train, taxi or accommodation transfer before paying for the attraction. For a fragile same-day return, book a registered local stay or choose a different destination rather than inventing a connection.
• Weather, seasonal controls and maintenance can close canyon decks, boats, caves, forest paths or coastal walkways. Check the operator on the morning of travel and again at the local gateway when conditions are changing.
• Cheorwon's official page describes the Hantangang Columnar Joint Road as a 3.6-kilometre managed cliff walkway and warns of closure during a rain warning. Check which of Suncham or Dreuni gate is open, the current direction and return shuttle; this is not a free-form riverside loop.
• The Cheorwon walkway has cliff exposure and narrow managed sections. It may not suit a severe fear of heights, and accessibility is limited by the live gate, terrain, stairs and shuttle; ask the operator about the exact route for your date.
• At the Park Soo Keun Museum, the operator's current exhibition and building notice wins over an older tourism page. Do not promise a particular painting is on view, and confirm the live Monday or holiday rule, last admission and which buildings are accessible.
• Baekdamsa is a living temple inside inner Seoraksan. Reach it only by the currently permitted seasonal local bus or walking arrangement, follow temple etiquette and photography signs, and do not convert this choice into an unplanned summit route.
• Check the Korea National Park Service's live Seoraksan control notice as well as Baekdamsa and Inje notices. Local transport, construction, fire-prevention control or severe weather can change access even when an old destination page remains online.
• Sutasa and Gongjaksan Eco Forest can support a temple-and-forest visit, but the eco forest is not automatic permission to climb Gongjaksan. Confirm the exact managed path and current fire-season or weather restrictions separately.
• Hoengseong Lake Trail has six courses. Choose one clearly defined current loop — Course 5 is a commonly presented loop, not a guarantee for every date — and confirm the start, finish, daylight, reservoir-edge conditions and return transport.
• Do not enter the reservoir, cross barriers or improvise a shoreline shortcut. Wet leaves, ice and heat can change the difficulty, and a trail described as accessible still requires a date-specific check for surfaces, toilets and companion assistance.
• Cheongnyeongpo is a river-wrapped historic exile site associated with King Danjong. Current boat access can change with weather or water level; confirm entry and return, and ask the operator about step-free access instead of assuming the boat and forest paths fit every traveler.
• Hwaam Cave combines a former gold mine with a natural cave. The monorail and cave admission are distinct, and the visit can include many stairs, cool damp surfaces and low-light sections; wear secure footwear, do not touch formations and follow staff directions.
• Taebaek Paleozoic Museum is not a dinosaur-only attraction. Use the museum's live exhibition calendar, Monday or holiday notice and last admission, and do not treat the old transport-frequency text on its location page as today's bus timetable.
• Cheongok Golden Bat Cave is a city-centre geology visit, not a guaranteed bat encounter. Wear the required safety equipment, expect cool damp steps, do not touch formations or disturb wildlife, and ask the facility about the exact accessible route.
• Official Gangwon context describes the Chogok coast path as about 660 metres with a 56-metre suspension bridge. Wind, high waves and maintenance can close it, so stay on the opened deck and never enter cliffs, rocks or the water to complete a photograph.
• Accessibility is site-specific: ask about parking-to-entrance distance, ramps, lifts, stairs, cave surfaces, boat boarding, bridge exposure, cleared winter paths, accessible toilets and companion assistance for the exact date. This page does not label all ten as wheelchair-accessible.
