What can still change

• This is a genuine 1-night, 2-day route: Day 1 contains Daereungwon, Cheomseongdae, Woljeonggyo and Donggung/Wolji; Day 2 contains Bulguksa, conditional Seokguram and Gyeongju National Museum. Do not compress all seven into one day.
• Arrival, accommodation check-in, baggage handling and the trip home are not sightseeing stops. Confirm the property's actual luggage policy and your exact booked arrival before using Day 1; never leave bags unattended because a guide assumed storage.
• Opening hours, last admission, lighting, interpretation, admission and closures are live operator facts. This page was checked on 2026-08-22, but the newest dated official notice and the sign at the entrance always win.
• Daereungwon park and Cheonmachong are not one admission promise. Current Gyeongju guidance lists park entry as free and Cheonmachong as separately paid; verify the current ticket layer rather than repeating an older all-park fee.
• Royal tombs are burial heritage. Stay behind fences and on marked paths, do not climb or sit on mounds, do not touch stonework and keep drones, tripods and staged shoots within the posted rules.
• Cheomseongdae sits in an active heritage landscape. Excavation, turf recovery, event barriers or lighting controls can change the useful path; never step around a closure for a cleaner photograph.
• Gyochon includes homes and independent businesses. Keep residential lanes quiet, ask before photographing people and check each workshop, restaurant, shop, ingredient list, price and reservation independently.
• At Woljeonggyo, use the public bridge deck and obey riverside controls. Skip stepping stones during rain, flooding, ice, darkness or any closure; water depth and surface grip matter more than recreating a photo.
• Donggung and Wolji currently publishes a late closing and earlier last admission, but the city also warns that busy conditions near last entry can prevent a useful visit. Arrive with a buffer and leave when the return plan requires it.
• Night lighting is not guaranteed by a travel poster. Sunset, maintenance, weather, special events and conservation work can alter the scene; keep paths and emergency access clear and do not obstruct others with a tripod.
• Start Day 2 only after confirming the exact train or intercity-bus departure, the station or terminal's Korean name, the local transfer time and a personal buffer. Gyeongju's old downtown rail-station assumption must not replace the station printed on the ticket.
• Official city route guidance sends bus 10 toward Bulguksa and notes that 10-1 does not serve Bulguksa. Route patterns, stop IDs and schedules can change, so use the current city transport or BIS result immediately before boarding.
• Bulguksa is an active temple as well as a heritage site. Speak quietly, follow worship and photography signs, keep food outside restricted worship space, do not touch monuments and accept that ceremonies can temporarily change access.
• Seokguram is a mountain-side add-on, not an automatic extension of Bulguksa. Check the operator, weather, road, uphill connection, last return and walking surface before leaving; remove it in high wind, heavy rain, snow, ice, heat stress or any official control.
• The protected Seokguram interior is viewed through a glass barrier installed for conservation. Do not promise an open cave, close access to the principal statue, flash photography or unrestricted filming.
• Bulguksa has stairs, terraces and sloped approaches; Seokguram adds a mountain path and further level changes. Accessibility is route-specific, so contact each operator about the actual entrance, vehicle access, toilets and assistance instead of calling the full itinerary barrier-free.
• Gyeongju National Museum currently states 10:00–18:00 and closure on January 1, Seollal and Chuseok, but temporary gallery closures and special notices apply. Check the museum homepage on Day 2 and let the confirmed departure shorten the visit.
• Museum general admission is currently free, but special exhibitions can be separately paid. Follow bag, food, photography, flash and gallery instructions; a closed room does not make the whole museum closed.
• Interpretive names and reconstructions summarize evolving archaeological research. Distinguish excavated remains, reconstructed architecture, historical record and legend, and use the official museum or heritage interpretation when a claim matters.
• In heat, use shade, water and a slower walking pace; in rain or snow, favor paved public paths and remove riverside stones or the mountain stop. Korea Meteorological Administration warnings override the sequence.
• Restaurants and market counters set their own hours, ingredients, prices and cross-contact practice. For allergies or dietary restrictions, show a written Korean request, ask before ordering and leave when staff cannot confirm it.
• For a taxi, enter the exact Korean destination, match the vehicle and plate shown in the app or queue, use the meter or confirmed legal fare method and keep the receipt or trip record. Do not accept an unsolicited ride.
• Ask before photographing worshippers, residents, guides or staff. Do not use flash where prohibited, fly a drone without authorization, climb structures or block a path to reproduce the campaign artwork.
• Save the accommodation, each stop and the booked station or terminal in Korean for offline use. Call 112 for police, 119 for fire or medical emergency and 1330 for multilingual travel assistance.
