Current status
Advertising is switched off. No advertising script loads anywhere in the service today, and /ads.txt contains no seller record because there is no advertising account to declare yet. This page describes the rules that apply when advertising is enabled.
Where advertising can appear
Only on reviewed public pages that exist to answer a travel question: place and event detail pages, and practical guides. Listing pages may carry a limited in-feed slot. Every slot is labelled “Advertisement” and is styled so it cannot be mistaken for a content card or a navigation button.
Where advertising will never appear
- Private messages, message requests, and group chat
- Sign-in, sign-up, and account recovery
- Personal notifications and private trip planning
- Reporting and blocking screens
- Emergency and safety pages
- Search results
- Error pages
- Administration and moderation tools
- Content that has been reported or is awaiting review
These are enforced in code by a single decision function that fails closed: a new page type carries no advertising until it is explicitly allowed and tested.
Placement rules
Advertising never sits above the information you came for. On a place or event page, the dates, address, and official link appear before any slot. We do not place slots next to booking links, maps, save buttons, message actions, or emergency numbers. Slot heights are reserved so the page does not jump as it loads.
User content and advertising
Traveler posts are not advertising inventory by default. A public post becomes eligible only after review, and a single report removes advertising from it immediately.
Sponsored and affiliate content
If we are paid for a placement, it is labelled “Sponsored” or “Promoted” on the card, on the detail page, and on the image used when the page is shared. That label cannot be hidden. Affiliate links are marked and separated from official operator links.
Payment does not change a ranking, a recommendation, or a verification badge. We do not guarantee a merchant’s price, stock, or service.
Consent and personalisation
Before advertising is enabled for visitors in the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, we will use a certified consent management platform. Without consent for advertising purposes, advertising tags are not called at all. You will be able to reopen and withdraw your choice at any time, and advertising consent is kept separate from analytics consent.
What we do not measure
We do not track individual advertising clicks, read advertising frames, or combine advertising data with private messages. We measure only whether a page was eligible, whether a slot was requested, whether the script loaded, and page performance.
This page describes how the service is built to operate. It is not legal advice, and the consent requirements above are subject to review for each country we launch in.
