What we collect
We collect the email address used to sign in, profile settings you provide, saved trips, community activity, reports, and private messages needed to operate the service. Session tokens are stored only as hashes.
Location
Nearby discovery uses location in your browser after permission. Korea Era does not persist precise background location.
How we use data
We use data to authenticate you, deliver requested features, prevent abuse, moderate content, and understand aggregate reliability. Private messages and account pages are not used as advertising inventory.
Advertising in the Android app
The Android app uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob) to show ads in the public Community feed and on reviewed place details. Google may process device or other identifiers, approximate location, app interactions, and diagnostics to deliver and measure ads and prevent abuse. Where required, the app presents Google UMP choices before requesting ads and lets you reopen ad privacy choices from Settings. Sign-in, account, private trip, messaging, posting, and emergency screens are not advertising inventory.
Optional message translation
Translation is opt-in. For public pages, the global Korean translation mode sends only the highlighted public snippet you select to Cloudflare Workers AI; private account, trip, business, admin and message surfaces are excluded. Message translation remains separate and sends only the selected message after your explicit request or conversation consent. We cache machine-generated translations to reduce repeat processing and always keep the original visible and authoritative.
Access and portability
You can download a portable JSON copy of data you supplied or that is directly associated with your account from Settings. The archive includes your profile, saved places, trips, community contributions, settings and messages you sent. It excludes other travellers’ private message text, authentication secrets, security hashes and internal moderation notes.
Retention and deletion
You can schedule account deletion from Settings. Sessions are revoked immediately and deletion is scheduled after a seven-day recovery window. Security and moderation records may be retained when legally or operationally required.
